Reflective Prayer Area

Jesus knew how busy life could be and encouraged his followers by saying "come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest" (Mark 6:31).

To assist in having a quiet and restful place we have recently developed a themed prayer area in the north aisle.

"I can only speak for myself when I say that it can be so easy to get caught up in the busyness of everyday life! Finding a quiet space, away from distractions, to stop and catch my breath with God is sometimes difficult. Whether you find this is the case for you or not, you are invited to "come...be still...and rest" in the reflective prayer space. You are welcome whether it is for a minute or longer." (Anne-Marie who helped develop the idea of the area)

From the main door follow the pink signs like the one pictured below to get to the prayer area.

This is the current theme for Autumn (2025).

Where art becomes a doorway to encounter God in prayer and contemplation.

A Heartfelt Thank You: To all who have contributed their works of art to the Reflective Prayer Space—thank you. Your creativity has shaped a contemplative display that invites stillness and a doorway into encountering God.

This collection draws inspiration from the season of Autumn. In the Anglican Calendar, Autumn is honoured as the Creation Season—a time when the natural world becomes our teacher in the art of release. As the light begins to fade, trees and plants make a graceful decision: they let go of their leaves. This is not a sign of defeat, but a deliberate turning. By relinquishing what once sustained them, they prepare to draw strength from the ground beneath. The sun no longer offers what they need, and so they turn inward, downward—toward the deeper source.

A Sacred Invitation: This seasonal surrender speaks gently to our own lives. It reminds us that letting go can be holy. That in releasing, we make space to receive. That in the quiet, God waits. You are warmly invited to enter the stillness. Let the art speak. Let your soul listen. And may you encounter the Divine in the beauty of this space.

The label under the Amazing Grace picture is: For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him (John 3:16-17)
