24th December prayers

Emmanuel, God with us, on this the eve of Your birth, we thank You that Your everlasting light shone forth in the dark streets of Bethlehem and that it continues shining in the darkness today. We worship You for keeping Your promises. We give You honour and praise that God's gift to us was so silently but freely given. We pray that You enter our hearts and cleanse it of sin and darkness. Remain with us always and help us to tell others of Your tidings of gladness and joy Amen .
