5th December prayers

Jesus, You are the light of the world that overcomes the darkness in the world and in each of us. Thank You that the darkness can never overcome Your light. Help us to lift our eyes and hearts to You, to receive afresh Your light and to reflect this light to others in the world, that we encounter, who are still living in darkness because they have not opened the door and let You into their lives. Teach us to identify areas in our lives where we have tried to close off to You and still have darkness in them. Amen.
